Richard E. Hurdle AIA

Richard E. Hurdle AIA, one of the firms founding principals, has since 1986 focused his career on the Hotel/Lodging Industry which represent construction costs approaching one billion dollars.

To help our clients achieve their project goals Richard employs a hands-on project approach by working with them closely to understand their concerns and translate those issues into architectural solutions. Richard understands the business of hospitality and effectively translates those concerns into architectural solutions aimed at enhancing the properties revenue generating potential.

As principal-in-charge of Hotel/Lodging Design, Richard has the experience, confidence and vision to guide clients through essential programming and strategic planning efforts, gain consensus of all parties and produce a framework for future project decisions. Richard is committed to developing designs that are not only innovative and inclusive of the entire client's needs and aspirations, but also includes strategies and steps for implementation and development. Taking the leadership role in Zivic & Hurdle Architect's interactive design process, Richard creates close partnerships with our clients and engages them and other stakeholders in meaningful dialogue to find the perfect architectural expression of form and functionality.

Prior to establishing Zivic & Hurdle Architects Mr. Hurdle was a senior designer with RTKL in Baltimore and with Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) in Washington, DC.
